The Final Countdown!
The race for the '07 playoffs could not unfold anymore timely; in the last 2 weeks of the season. Only 3 teams have clinched the playoffs; Belly Itchers, Chet's Lemons and the Industrials. The Belly Itchers are the first team to clinch the #1 seed and now awaiting to defend their American League prowess. |

Three teams still remain in the hunt for the last two spots in the American league; Onion Kings, Sidewinders and the Flyin' Wildebeests. Heading into the last week of the schedule, the Wildies and Onion Kings are the front runners for the last two spots, with the Sidewinders sitting 2 games back. The Sidewinders are scheduled to play KWL dominating Belly Itchers and would require a sweep to have any chance at the playoffs. On the other hand, the Onion Kings and the Wildies are both scheduled to play the two cellar dwellers of the KWL; Sittin' Ducks and Evil Monkeys. Both teams are capable of playing spoilers in the last and final week of the season.
If the Wildies and Onion Kings end up with a tie, the advantage (2nd place) would be awarded to the Wildies who have a 3-1 season series edge over these red hot pursuers. Heading into the last week, the Onion Kings have won 6 of their last 7 games, while the Wildies have sputtered since their 8-0 start going 5-9.

Over to the other side of the week, the National League has 2 births clinched and the #1 seed is still up for grabs. After an entire season of trailing 2 games back the Industrials head into Thursday with a chance to bring them even with the front running Lemons. The Industrials finish their season with their brothers from the cellar; Evil Monkeys and playoff hopeful AMS Indians.
|
The final playoff birth is still up for grabs between two teams; AMS Indians and the Heavy Hex Nuts. Currently the Indians hold a two game lead on the Heavies, but both are scheduled for an epic battle this coming Thursday as they battle it out at Flesher East. The Indians have a 2-0 season series edge and can lock their playoff spot with a sweep.
Both teams head into the last week of the season schedule against the two league leaders; Indies and Lemons. AMS Indians are slatted to finish the season on Flesher west versus the Industrials and the Heavies on Flesher East versus the Lemons. |
If a 3rd place tie remains when the dust clears and both teams have an even season series against, the teams would flip a coin for home field advantage.
If a 1st place tie remains between the Lemons and the Industrials, they would be scheduled for a one game playoff on July 30th. The Industrials and Lemons have a season series tie of 3-3. |
