May POTM: Matt Kirsch

The First ever KWL Player of the Month honors go to a young kid from Kalamazoo Michigan; 19 year old Matt "The Kid" Kirsch.

Averaging a Homerun every 5.6 at bats, Kirsch has been able to lead both Leagues in Homeruns and had 11 jacks in May alone. Matt is also leading both leagues in Runs batted in, with his 38 ribbies in May.

When asked about the keys to his early success, Matt says “Spring training along with some luck has allowed me to play as well as I have." Matt also acknowledged that having 06' MVP Brian Meyers and Runner-up MVP Andy Ross around for advice has helped a lot. "Whether it be the keys to pitching and hitting, or the unspoken rules of how to be a good whiffler, these two guys have been great."

Don't think for a minute that this as all come from simple luck, Matt has put in a lot of hours of practice pitching and hitting with his Teammate and Brother Brian Kirsch.

How does Matt plan to continue his streak, "I just have to relax, not swing too hard and hopefully my luck continues."
