Spring Training Recap. After mother-nature teased the entire Midwest with 70 degree weather in March, She came back with a vengeance with ice storms and snow showers in April. KWL Spring Training kick-off was set for April 7th, but due to late snow fall we found ourselves starting Spring Training on April 16th; Just two short weeks before Opening day.
Just as we thought Old Man Winter was off to Canada, he blew some cold south winds that just about made wiffleball impossible. Being able to endure the elements was the challenge of the spring.
		Green grass, smiles, and long sleeved shirts were the first to show for the re-scheduled kickoff of Spring training. New players quickly learned the rules and ropes of organized wiffleball, each with aspirations of summer glory.
The only complete team to return from 2006 was the Industrials. Many players from last year returned, but most formed their own teams. New teams include; Chet's Lemons, Belly Itchers, Onion Kings, Flyin' Wildebeest, Flamin' Nancies, Heavy Hex Nuts, Evil Monkeys, Am Supply Indians, and the First All Ladies team the Sitting Ducks. Thanks to all that participated in the Kalamazoo Wiffleball League's very first Spring Training. Good luck to all the teams and remember to have fun, smile often and enjoy the great summer weather!
