Flyin' Wildebeest, 1st place ? !?.
Three weeks of the season has ticked by, games have been won and games have been lost. But only a few teams remain to be unbeaten.
Coming into the 07' season, the Flyin' Wildebeest were picked last in the power ranking polls for the American League. They seemed like they lacked the fire for first place throughout spring training. This is not the same team now as it was 4 weeks ago. |

The team is headed up by 06' MVP and Cy wiffle runner-up Andy Ross. Andy dissolved the Blind dadoes after a sub par season in 2006. The new team is composed of 1 other veteran player, Joey Brainerd and 3 rookies; Mike Kolinski, Brian Kirsch and Matt Kirsch. The new team hardly resembles anything left of what was last years dadoes. This team plays team wiffleball, with sound fundamentals. What is to the key this team’s success? "Allowing everyone to chip in with their abilities, regardless of their skill level." Says team captain Andy Ross.

Every player has done just that, as the team's coming into the 4th week hitting a combined .372 average. The team is scoring a lot of runs, and the run support is going along way for the pitchers, as Andy has only had to pitch 8 innings so far this year.
The surprise addition of potential Triple Crown winner, Matt Kirsch has certainly blustered this team’s spirits. "He is hitting everything in site" Says a local fan. Matt is leading just about every offensive category leading into the 4th week; Hitting .563, 9 HR's and 32 RBI's. |
The American league is certainly surprised by the Wildies 6-0 start. "If we continue to play the way we are playing now, we will be contenders for the Cup in August" Says Andy Ross. No one is questioning their ability at this point, but with only 1/4 of the season down anything can happen!
