Game 1:
Lemons 11, Monday Night 40s 14 F/6
W: Chad Mients
L: Adam Nash
HR: Mason Everett 2, Steve Everett, Josh Whitfield, Adam Nash, Travis Branch
The first game of the night was an exciting one with balls flying everywhere - from off the bats to out of the pitchers' hands. Chad Meints and Adam Nash, the starters from both teams, struggled with control early on but were able to find their grooves as the game went on. The problem was the bats found their grooves too. In the end, it was the 40s slugging their way to a 14-11 victory. Mason Everett led their offensive attack going 4 for 7 with 2 HRs and 7 RBIs.

Game 2:
Monday Night 40s
9, Lemons 1 F/6
W: Steve Everett
L: Brian Barber
HR: Steve Everett 2
In Game 2, both pitchers got right down to business. Brian Barber of the Lemons had his slider working, making most of the 40s looking foolish at the plate. It appeared to be a low scoring affair until NL MVP Steve Everett got his bat going. Steve's 2 HRs were what the 40s needed to get their offense bubbling, knocking the Lemons out of the playoffs with a 9-1 victory.

Next up for the 40s is league Goliath, The Belly Itchers. The 40s made lemonade Thursday night when life handed them the Lemons... but can they be the team to scratch the Itch? Be there Monday, August 3rd at 6:00 pm! |
