National League 2009 Preview.

As an on looker or new player of the Kalamazoo Wiffleball League, it is sometimes hard to follow along without knowing some basic things about each team; Who are they? What to expect? Take some time and learn a little about each team.

Cure

Who are they?
Three players are returning members of the StoneCutters; Jason, Jay and Matt.  One player was a member of the Angry Beavers for around 50% of last season; Johny, and the rest of the Roster are new blood to the league.

What to expect?
It might be easier to tell you what not to expect; the StoneCutters from 2008.  Even though they are certainly going to win more then 1 game this season, making the playoffs will end up being an up hill battle.Team Page.

Monday Night 40's

Who are they?
An all new expansion team to the KWL.  The Roster is made up of long time friends who always have a lot of fun during games.  Laughing, joking and heckling are all standard issue from the 40s.

What to expect?
Nothing but the high life for these cats, possibly of the King Cobra flavor.  Steve Everett will most likely carry most of the offensive responsibility, while Chad Meints will anchor down from the mound.. Team Page.

Diablos

Who are they?
Simple, they are the 2008 Indians.  All the players on this team have played for many, many years.  Jamey and Jason are going into their 4th season, while Tim, Adam and Jim are heading into their 3rd.

What to expect?
They will certainly start this season off better then last and should be the team to beat for the 3rd playoff spot.  Watch for Adam Ross to finally establish himself as one of the top tier pitchers in the league.Team Page.

Lemons

Who are they?
Two ex-Gentlemen(Raber and Barber), two ex-Dutchman(Nash and Ben) and one Noob(Branch).

What to expect?
Games against them will be serious, up tight and intense.  You won’t see any of these guys wearing a FunStar jersey come June, but they will probably have one of the leagues best records. Team Page.

Loose Nuts

Who are they?
The team is anchored by Justin Knecht and Mike Jacobson.  Both played last season for the Angry Beavers.  The rest of the team are new recruits with no current scouting report.

What to expect?
They might struggle at first, but should be able to win a handful of games.  Might not make a run for the playoffs, but will defiantly make a run at the Tom Selic Festival of Competition.Team Page.

Belly Itchers

Who are they?
2007 and 2008 League Champions.  The core of the team has returned, but the few extra new guys from 08’ are gone.

What to expect?
No exactly sure.  In the past, they have lock horns in some really intense games, but could the fire have dwindled down? Team Page.

Screamin' Weasels

Who are they?
The current roster is not completely set and they are all new to the KWL.

What to expect?
They may struggle to pick up the speed of the game, thus making them easy prey for some easy wins.  Team Page.
