with a lot of intensity, but still took time to acknowledge other players successes. Hands were shook, hats were tipped and high fives exchanged. It was simply a perfectly played game. We also had somewhere around 50 fans to boot!
To my AL crew
It was a blast to be part of the AllStar game with you. I really enjoy hanging out with you all and enjoy playing along side of you. Although I was honored to win the AllStar MVP, I was more honored to play along side you guys and represent our American League brethren! You guys all helped in keeping the intensity high and together we managed to overcome a very tough NL AllStar squad! This was my first time on the winning side of the AllStar game and I could never have picked a better group of friends to play with, certainly the shinning moment of my KWL Career!
FunStar Game
What more can be said about the FunStars? Quite simply one of the best games to watch the entire year! Just when we all thought we’ve seen it all, we all got to enjoy watching Josh Whitfield hit while wearing a speedo! Once again we were blessed to see Pretty Benny play shirtless, but this time with a twist! Straight up HILAROUS! Good work guys making this a continued success.
Homerun Derby
The Homerun Derby took a backseat to the other two games this year, but it was for the best! We didn’t see a ton of homeruns like in years past, but we did see a good second and final round! It is always exciting to see a new guy win this event and no one deserved it more then Mike Downs. Third times a charm!
The Afterglow
WOW! I was blown away by the amount of people that stuck around after everything was over and just bs’ed, hit wiffleballs and took time to get to know each other. This was the best postgame party to date! The league grew a metric ton in just two short hours.
I consider myself very luck to be part of such a great league. Thanks to everyone that came out to play or watch. Thanks to all those that helped set up, run the event and clean up at the end of the night. Kudos to all! |
