What to Expect on Allstar Saturday 6/7/09 by Brian Meyers It's hard to believe we are this close to the season's half way point! It's a very bittersweet feeling, but rest assured, next Saturdays (6/13/09) AllStar weekend is best time of the entire season! A must see, must experience type deal. The events are on a different schedule then years past, but should make for an exciting and fun day of wiffles. Saturdays events are as follows: AllStars: Starting at 3:30pm (players need to be here by 3pm) the league will host the 3rd AllStar game in KWL history. The game is 9 innings long and is packed full of the KWL's best talent in a battle for bragging rights. Currently the record between the league is tied up at 1 game each. Who will come out on top come Saturday? Show up and find out! FunStars: Starting at 5:15pm we continue our Saturday with the great comical relief game featuring all of our favorite wifflers; the FunStars. The game will consist of 4 innings (or 45 minutes). The rules for the game are simple, there are no rules! Make some up, then break em'. Be sure to have your chair and favorite beverage ready come game time. Homerun Derby: Staring at 6pm, the days featured event will take place; Homerun Derby! Featuring 8 of the KWL's permeire sluggers in a head to head battle for the Homerun derby championship. Homerun Derby will be called by our very own color man, Daryl Hutson from the KWL pressbox. Hot dogs will be grilled starting midway through the FunStar game and will be available the rest of the evening. Please enjoy yourself! Make signs, bring your family and friends and have a blast!
