Nash/Diablos finalize deal. 12/19/2009

Christmas came early, as the KWL little Devils finalized a much anticipated deal, inking right handed ace Adam Nash to a one-year incentive laden contact with a vesting option for 2011. Coinciding with the Nash signing, the Diablos announced the release of Jason Jones confirming what many felt was on the horizon.

Team Press Release:
The Diablo's and its management are thrilled as to the free agent signing of Adam Nash. We now have a top notch pitcher and a solid rotation of Nash, Ross & Detamore. Adam's youthfulness won't hurt or aging team either. I do regret to make room for Adam,we will be giving Jason Jones his unconditional release.
Happy Holidays, Jim Noel - President/GM Diablo's

Q&A with Nash:

Why did you choose the Diablos?
I choose the Diablos because I believe this would be the best spot for me as far as being able to contribute, but also be able to go to games and have fun

Will you be able to return to your 08' form in 2010?

I'm hoping to be in better shape come season time, last summer I had to much on my plate from "being a celebrity" on the news and in the paper, to having to actually be on the run for the first couple of months into the season, but now I got everything straightened out and have already started training for spring

Is it true that Jim Noel is making you wear the Small #1 Jersey they bought for their lady fans last year? HaHa.. and about the shirt I doubt you'll be seeing me in a small anything, I've actually put on some weight, and I can bet you it would look pretty.

Anything else to say?
I don't have much else to say, but I do want to appologise for last season, I did bring unecessary attention to myself and others around me. most of the "drama" was me and I apologise to everyone it effected.

Outside Opinions:
Daryl Hutson, Industrials - "Knock one off the free agent list, then add one right back again.  If Nash shows up, has a clear head, and brings shoes; he could be the pitcher that the Diablo's need to clench a playoff spot."
Steve Everett, Monday Night 40s - "Good signing for the Diablos in adding another good pitcher to their staff. They now have 3-4 good pitchers and that is definitely beneficial for them because of the new division they're playing in. This should help make them contenders for the Wild Card!"
Travis Branch, Lemons - "This is a big move by the Diablos. He signed a true impact player when he got Nash, although I'm pretty sure that Noel signed a former Lemon just to find out where I live."

Pat Burnell, Industrials - "This roster move gives the Diablos a legitement number one pitcher although I hear he will have to earn it. Definitely sets the Diablos up as an early season favorite to make the playoffs plus the change to taking 4 teams helps."

Mason Everett, Monday Night 40s - "I've always thought that the Diablos were one arm away from being a serious competitor for the Mullany Cup. They may have just gotten their boost by signing "The Nashty Boy!"
