Persistance and a little luck. by Brian Meyers 8/30/2010

After sacrificing five year’s on the pursuit, Andy Ross finally caught his “Eleanor” as the Friars won the 2010 Championship.  “FINALLY!” exclaimed Ross as he bolted out of right field after the final out to snatch the Mullany Cup off the ground, hoisting it in the air for the first time.

As the Cup glimmered in the setting sun, Ross’s excitement was well understood after sitting on the door step of his first championship for 3 seasons, blocked only by the Belly Itcher Dynasty.  After three seasons as the Flyin’ Wildebeest Captain, Andy took a different route in his pursuit of the Cup as he signed as a free agent with the Friars after the wheels spun off the ‘Beest’s franchise.

As one of the free agent signers, Ross was a vital part of this year’s Championship run. “I was little worried about his attendance issues from the past, but that quickly went away when I saw how much it was having him on our team”, said Marsz. “We really needed his experience, and his playoff clutch hitting was certainly a boost!”

Although Andy is now a KWL Champion, since he is no longer a team captain, the Trophy will not be displaced on his mantle. “There’s no doubt that Cup will be sitting on my bookcase” said the Friars Captain Kevin Marszalek.  “He is more then welcome to come and look at it this winter” he continued to say.  But to Andy that’s

just the fine print as he is happy to be on the other side of the Township Series for the first time.
