2011 Allstar Snubs! by Travis Branch 6/17/2011

John Quardokus was the first to speak up about his feelings of being snubbed by the AllStar Committee and I’m here to back him up!  Just like last season, I am amazed by the lack of change in the results of the Allstar selections.  What is it going to take to get a little input from the masses?  Two years in a row, same results!  Players that deserve Allstar nods, left to wonder why it didn’t come.  An unapologetic Commissioner responded to my last email with “We pick 20 players out of 100 for these teams, as much as we would like to avoid it, players are going to be left off the team.” Well, I have an idea!  Let’s limit the number of player from each team.  That seems like a good place to start!

So, without ranting further...here is my 5 Allstar Snubs!

Katie Meyers – DUK.
Not even a nod as an Alternate?  You can’t even give her an $11 shirt to show for being the best hitting female in the entire league? The proof is in the numbers! A KWL leading .410 average, 6 homeruns and 15 Rbi’s.

Kyle Hess – GTM.
Now a 2-time snub!  What does a brother have to do get on an Allstar team?  He is hitting .297 with 8 dingers for Jacques Sake!!

John Quardokus – CHU.
Hey, I got an idea!  Let’s take the entire Industrials team and let them face the NL Allstars!  Does Zac really deserve a spot over JQ for riding the coat tails of Meyers and Everett?  John’s all alone on his team and is putting up damn despicable numbers to boot! .365 Average with 4 homeruns.

Jamey Detamore – DBL.
Tied for second in Homeruns in the NL with 9, and 4th in the NL with 25 Rbi’s and you STILL picked two Belly Itchers to hit over him?  I bet the NL will be wishing they had Jamey hitting when Ford is too busy flirting with his friends than paying attention to the game!

Andrew Werthman – 5DP.
Snubbed again my friend, but this year you could have filled in on the mound or in the lineup!  3-1 record on the mound, .300 average at the dish.  I don’t even need to mention his 21 runs scored, but I will!  I would even hazard a guess that Downs was considered ahead of Werty!

Decent article, but there's one glaring omission...Matt Jennings. Numbers don't tell the whole story with me. I'm single handedly keeping my garbage team in the playoff race. I guess I'll have to write an article titled "'2011 All-Star Snubs!' Snubs!"
